In a significant move to enhance employment opportunities for Omani nationals, the Ministry of Labour, in collaboration with the National Employment Programme, has launched the Tawteen platform. This digital initiative aims to streamline the connection between job seekers and employers, fostering a more efficient and transparent labour market. 

A Unified Digital Ecosystem

Tawteen serves as an integrated digital ecosystem designed to bridge the gap between Omani talent and available job opportunities across various sectors. The platform enables job seekers to create and update their profiles, allowing companies to access a comprehensive database of local talent. In instances where suitable local candidates are unavailable, employers can request foreign workers through the platform, ensuring a balanced and responsive approach to workforce needs.

Strategic Objectives Aligned with Oman Vision 2040

The platform aligns with the strategic objectives of Oman Vision 2040, focusing on:​

• Attracting Long-Term Foreign Direct Investment: By providing a transparent and efficient recruitment process, Tawteen enhances the appeal of Oman’s labour market to international investors.

• Streamlined Registration Process: Companies can register and manage their workforce needs efficiently, enhancing transparency and resource management.​
• Performance Tracking Dashboards: Employers have access to dashboards that offer insights into employment indicators and localization rates, facilitating strategic workforce planning.
• Support for Employment Governance Committees: Tawteen aids the efforts of 16 sectoral governance committees by providing tools to monitor and enhance employment initiatives across various economic sectors.

Companies are encouraged to register on the platform to benefit from its features and contribute to national employment goals. Non-compliance may result in restricted access to certain Ministry services, underscoring the platform’s role in fostering a collaborative approach to workforce development.
